City Life News Standard Operating Instructions V1. Everything in this post is subject to change.


Requirements to be a City Life News Contributor are: Need to be a City Life Community Member. Need to have the skills and programs. Respect and Follow each of the City Life Rules! Need to be Honest, a Team Player and Reliable. Be able to work with the City Life Police Department and City Life Emergency Medical Team very closely.

Requirements to be on the City Life News Team are: Need to be an Active City Life Community Member for one month. Need to have the skills and programs (Dropbox for uploading). Respect and Follow each of the City Life Rules! Need to be Honest, a Team Player and Reliable. Be able to work with other community members from the City Life Police Department and City Life Emergency Medical Team very closely. Can not do any violent crimes. (Just like a cop or emt - Our Management Works Close with the Command Staff at the CLPD - and punishment will be dealt out for your crimes. Drug Test are Required for these positions, see an EMT for test.) This is a job, so just like any job, if we feel that at any time you are no longer representing the News Team in a good light we have the right to dismiss your services at anytime. This is the big one, need to be able to work under pressure and under deadline!

CLN Rules: General: All CLN’s Items are protected. Other players are not permitted to steal or take any CLN item i.e New camera that belongs to the CLN service as can be miss used.

NEVER: Block Police, Civilian or EMT vehicles. Block criminal vehicles and/or line of fire. Provide transportation to criminals. Provide information relating to crimes - Unless you or another member of CLN is involved) Take items left by a dead player unless delivering the items to the dead player.

SOMETIMES: Fly low with the permission from the CLPD - Only when reporting. Charge a fee for advertising during programs. Inform the Police of the location the victim. Report in a combat zone - With permission from the CLPD

ALWAYS: Don’t show prejudice and provide unbiased News Reports. Promote inter-agency cooperation by liaising with Police and EMT'S where appropriate. Follow all Laws. Bypass speed restrictions, if being escorted by the CLPD

Rank Structure/Roles:

Moderator - Overlooks and assists with operations in the CLN Association where needed. Administrator of the CL News Team.

News Directors - In charge of running CLN and keeping relevant stories posted while also ensuring the community is updated with various aspects of the mod (Monthly Member Awards, News Paper and News Videos/Articles). Helps direct the other roles of CLN in order to keep operations smooth and consistant.

Station Manager: In charge of studio operations and assisting the News Directors or reporters/cameramen where needed. Overlooks general operations of the reporters/cameramen as well as helping with various articles for the newspaper.

Technical Engineers: Ensures that the technical aspects of CLN are running smoothly such as the storage of video footage, assisting with editing questions where needed and other technical aspects that may arise. This person must be very well versed in video editing, have an extensive knowledge of various editing programs and other software that may be used by the CLN members. Assists Station Manager and News Directors as well as reporters and cameramen in the field where needed.

Anchormen/Reporters:

The City Life News team are looking for someone to be the face and voice for CLN live stream team over at www.twitch.tv/citylifenews . A news anchor is a broadcast journalist. As a successful broadcast journalist, it would be your job to entertain and inform a large television viewing audience i.e the CL community or larger. You must work together with producers, directors and others to attract the largest possible audience, because the size of the audience determines the size of the TV station's revenue.

Duties:

An anchor is an on-air announcer. As an announcer, you are the public persona representing the station and cl community. Announcers’ jobs include telling the audience what to expect from the program, reading the news, interviewing guests, opening and closing programs and sometimes chairing panel discussions or debates.

Requirements: As you will be representing the station and CL community.

The Voice. you must have good strong vocal strength and be able to speak English well and clear for all to hear and understand. law abiding citizen. this means you must have no crime whatsoever on record. and must follow the law at all times as you will be working with services such as CLPD / EMT / Other community service. Timekeeping and flexible. you must be willing to make the time to get on the show at late nights and sometimes early mornings for shows such as, The force, Saving a life, Taxi bob, Happy Hookers. all the shows will be at different times and days and you must be willing to do at least two or three of them. Quick thinking and rapid response are critical to this role along with fact checking! Releases news stories in various formats to include: Video, written articles and audio recordings. Assists the Station Manager and News Directors with ongoing stories and ensures they are putting out content for members of the mod as well as the public. Meet all main CL News Requirements.

City Life News Investigative Journalists:

CLN journalists work for the Newspaper, researching and write stories for the community. As well as news and politics, they report on sports, arts and culture, science and business. They also cover national and local events, entertainment and human interest stories.

Duties: interviewing people in a range of different circumstances; building contacts to maintain a flow of news, for example, police and emergency services, local council, community groups, seeking out and investigating stories via your contacts, press releases and other media; attending press conferences and asking questions; attending a variety of events, such as council meetings, magistrates' court proceedings, football matches, talent contests, etc; answering the phones on the news desk and reacting to breaking news stories; working closely with the news team, photographers and editors; recording interviews and meetings using shorthand or technical equipment; producing concise and accurate copy according to the newspaper's house style and to strict deadlines - daily newspapers may have several each day; writing short 'fillers' to entertain, and researching and writing longer feature articles, sometimes for subsidiary publications and supplements; creating and uploading news content for the newspaper website; 'live' online reporting or real-time blogging when covering important events - a growing area of work, especially on national newspapers.

Requirements:

law abiding citizen this means you must have no crime whatsoever on record. and must follow the law at all times as you will be working with services such as CLPD / EMT / Other community service. Ability to translate and convey current news stories in a manner that engages and reflects positively on the community. (This does not mean the story has to be positive but must help increase the reputation of the mod.) Good writing skills, excellent grammar and punctuation is a must! Must meet main CL News Requirements


Interns/Cameramen:

The City Life News team are looking for someone to be the eyes and ears for CLN live stream team over at www.twitch.tv/citylifenews. As cameraman it is your job to make sure the broadcast is successful and of a high quality, it would be your job to make sure the video stream and information that the viewing audience receive is of a good high quality. You must work together with producers, directors and others to attract the largest possible audience, because the size of the audience determines the size of the TV station's revenue.

Duties

As cameraman you are the eyes and ears of CLN. And so you are responsible for what we see and hear. your job’s will include showing the audience what to expect from the program, recording interviews with guests, opening and closing programs and sometimes being in high end chase with clpd or having to keep up with the Anchorman/Reporters. You are also a general assistant to the reporters, anchormen, station manager and news directors. The intern/cameraman learns from being in the field and helps cut down videos for the team. With opportunity to grow, the intern is given chances to report as well...working their way up to the role of a full reporter.


Requirements

As you will be representing the station and CL community.

The eye and ears, you must have good strong internet connection to livestream video be able to video edit and have good upload speed to send video to the youtube channel. law abiding citizen this means you must have no crime whatsoever on record. and must follow the law at all times as you will be working with services such as CLPD / EMT / Other community service. Timekeeping and flexible, you must be willing to make the time to get on the show at late nights and sometimes early mornings for shows such as, The force, Saving a life, Taxi bob, Happy Hookers. all the shows will be at different times and days and you must be willing to do at least two or three of them. Must meet all Main CL News Requirements.

Members of CLN must follow the dress code when reporting as CLN. if a member of CLN is not in dress code then he or she is not representing CLN and can and will be held responsible for their own actions CLPD are allowed to treat you as normal civilian if you are not in dress code and at a scene of a crime.
